QUALIFICATION GAINED

The aim of the Portable Appliance Testing training course is to ensure that personnel are familiar with Portable Appliance Testing Procedures and the use of a Portable Appliance Testing Machine and can apply it safely and correctly to test electrical appliances.

PRE-REQUISITE

Previous electrical knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential. The majority of delegates have no electrical knowledge whatsoever.

COURSE DURATION

The duration of the course is one day. Approx 9am to 4pm.

OPTIMUM NUMBER

We are able to train individually and to a maximum number of 8 per course. We are able to cater for larger groups please contact us for details.

Training is normally held at the customers premises although we also hold courses across the UK.

TRAINING AIDS

Use will be made of power point presentation, demonstration, practical exercises and course notes.

The IEE Code of Practice for In Service Inspection and Testing Regulations is required for the course, which we can supply.

ASSESSMENT

A multiple choice examination is taken at the end of the course along with visual inspections of equipment.

Each candidate successfully passing the examination will receive a Certificate of Competence for In-service Inspection and testing of Electrical Equipment.

Candidates are required to demonstrate an ability to inspect and test an item of Class I and Class II construction at the end of the course.
